The Breast Cancer Now Tissue Bank is a vital resource that allow scientists access to the tissue and primary cells they need to carry out world-class research.
By patients donating their breast cancer samples and consenting for us to collect, store and share these samples and data with scientists worldwide, they are ensuring that research can happen faster and be more reliable, bringing greater benefits to patients.
About the Tissue Bank
The Breast Cancer Now Tissue Bank opened to researchers worldwide in 2012. We currently have more than 129,000 samples from almost 10,000 patients available to researchers.
By funding almost 290 of the brightest minds in breast cancer research, we’re discovering how we can prevent, save lives and live well with breast cancer.
The Breast Cancer Now Tissue Bank is generously supported by funding from Asda Tickled Pink and the Garfield Weston Foundation. We would also like to acknowledge the past support of Walk the Walk, a founding partner of the Tissue Bank alongside Asda Tickled Pink.
We still need further support and donations to keep investing in projects like the Tissue Bank.
